2nd Edition
– Online / February 11th-March 4th –
The second edition of the Moroccan National Public Speaking Championship will take place online on Zoom. The event is open to all high school and middle school students in Morocco and foreigners living in Morocco. There are three separate events and students can participate in all three or just one.
This event aims to bring together the best public speakers in Morocco and non-Moroccans living in Morocco and help prepare the Moroccan National Public Speaking Team for the 2023 World Individual Debate & Public Speaking Championship (WIDPSC).
Impromptu Speaking: February 11th – 10h to 15h
Students will be given a random topic and 60 seconds to prepare a speech. Speech can not be more than 3 minutes long. There will be two rounds. First round and final round. The top 3 speakers will receive an e-certificate and an award shipped to their home address.
Persuasive Speaking: February 18th – 10h to 15h
Students will present a persuasive speech. Speech can not be more than 6 minutes long. No visual ads are permitted. There will be two rounds. First round and final round. The top 3 speakers will receive an e-certificate and an award shipped to their home address.
Interpretive Reading: February 25th – 10h to 15h
Students will present a reading from a published piece of literature. Speech can not be more than 6 minutes long. No visual ads are permitted. There will be two rounds. First round and final round. The top 3 speakers will receive an e-certificate and an award shipped to their home address.
Individual Debate: March 4th – 12h to 18h
Students will debate in 3 impromptu rounds than the top two will debate in the finals. Students will get 20 minutes of preparation time for reach round. In the round, each speaker will give 3 speeches, 4 minutes each. Points of information are allowed.
The top 3 speakers in each event will receive a medal and everyone will receive a certiciate.
